Jharkhand Health Camp

A weekend health camp in a rural Jharkhand district, run with a local partner NGO. General physicians and a small specialist rotation set up free consultations for anyone who walked in, with pharmacy support on hand so no one left with a prescription they could not fill.

Over the two days, several hundred people were seen. The most common issues were exactly what we expected: untreated blood pressure and diabetes, skin conditions that had been quietly getting worse, and paediatric concerns parents had been putting off because the nearest clinic was too far. A number of the cases were linked into ongoing online follow-up with a Panmedical provider so care did not end with the camp.

Camps like this are our reminder that digital healthcare is not a replacement for showing up in person: it is a way to keep the care going after the camp packs up.
